What this is
A working journal across three project threads — music, games, and LLM foundations — plus reflective pieces that don’t fit any single project.
The structure is simple: each post belongs to a pillar (or to “journal” if it doesn’t). The pillar pages collect posts from one thread; the home page surfaces recent work across all of them.
Who I am
Shankar Arunachalam. South Indian, based in the UK. Carnatic musician working with my own tradition. Composer and creator more than performer. I’ve been writing software for a long time and writing publicly less consistently than I’d like.
This blog is the more-consistent attempt.
Colophon
Built with Hugo. The theme is axiom — quiet editorial typography with one pillar-adaptive device: a post’s section breaks render in a glyph vocabulary chosen by its pillar. A music post breaks in Carnatic tala notation; a games post in roguelike map glyphs; an LLM post in a small computation graph. The two marks above are the neutral journal variant.
